Diet Pills
Although diet pills can seem a fast easy solution to weight loss, recent studies have shown that a key ingredient in diet pills can cause an increase risk of stroke in woman. Phenylpropanolamine (PPA), is found in many common over-the-counter diet pills. PPA can cause a wide range of problems including changes in mood, irritability, fatigue, insomnia, high blood pressure, heart and kidney damage, seizures and can also cause abnormal heart rhythm.
Aside from the fact that they can be deadly, diet pills tend to only work in the short term and most users gain the weight back as soon as they stop using the pills. Another problem with diet pills, is that they can be extremely addictive as they are a drug, just like any other drug.
Although herbal diet pills sound healthier than other types of diet pills this is not necessarily true, and some of these pills can also have nasty side-effects. Basically, unless you are considered obese with a BMI of over 35 , using diet pills would be an unwise decision.
What about if you are Obese?
If however, you are considered obese there are pills that could possibly help. These pills can not be bought over the counter and must be prescribed by a doctor.
One of the most popular pills prescribed by doctors for clinically obese people is Xenical.
Xenical
Xenical works by absorbing the fat in the food that we eat. Common side-effects, diarrhoea, headache, sore stomach and flatulence. If you still feel that using diet pills would help you then make sure you at least consult your doctor first.
